Today, Sen. Marie Alvarado-Gil (R-Jackson) issued the following statement praising the passage of President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” by the House of Representatives:
“One of my top priorities remains making rural California living affordable again — and the ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ plays a major part in delivering on that promise.
It brings real relief to the hardworking families and farmers that Sacramento has left behind. From eliminating taxes on tips and overtime, to expanding deductions for seniors, and protecting family farms from the death tax — this bill puts money back in the pockets of those who need it most. It’s pro-worker, pro-family, pro-farmer, and puts rural California first, which our governor too often ignores.
While he and progressive Sacramento focus on elitist coastal priorities, President Trump is giving a voice back to the Californians they’ve forgotten.
I was honored to be invited to the White House for a legislative policy briefing and to witness this historic vote firsthand. I want to thank President Trump for his leadership and for standing with the forgotten families of our state.”
