The ribbit-ing results are in for the 49th Annual Capitol Frog Jump!

  • 1st Place Capitol Category – Jeanelle Loui, Director of Operations for Lt. Gov. Kounalakis’ Office. Note: The man with the mustache and white hair is not actually Mark Twain.

  • Last place – Max Nguyen, Fellow for Sen. Shannon Grove. Note: The man with the mustache and white hair is not actually Mark Twain.

  • Media Category winner – Megan Myscofski of CapRadio, with last year’s media winner, Alexei Koseff of CalMatters.

The annual Frog Jump once again brought lively competition and laughter to the Capitol lawn today, with Jeanelle Loui, Director of Operations for Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis, earning the longest jump in the Capitol category at 14 feet 1 inch, and Max Nguyen, a fellow in Senator Shannon Grove’s office, taking home the prize for the shortest jump at 5 feet 3.5 inches. In the Media Category, Megan Myscofski of CapRadio soared to victory with the day’s longest overall jump of 14 feet 3 inches.

“The Frog Jump is always one of my favorite events of the year. It brings people together, lifts spirits, and never fails to surprise us,” said host Sen. Marie Alvarado-Gil (D–Jackson). “Thank you to everyone who came out to participate and cheer each other on, and a special thanks to Laurie Giannini, Miss Calaveras, and the entire frog jump team for making today such a success.
