SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Today Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil (R-Jackson) announced that $500,000 in direct state investment is headed to her hometown of Jackson to repair aging infrastructure and improve ADA accessibility at Detert Park—the City of Jackson’s primary public recreational hub. The funding was secured as part of the state budget package (AB 113) just signed by Governor Newsom.
Said Chad Simmons, Mayor of Jackson, “The City of Jackson is grateful to receive $500,000 in state funding for improvements at Detert Park. This money will help address aging infrastructure and improve ADA accessibility. We appreciate Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil and the state for investing in Jackson and look forward to putting these funds to work for our residents. The Senator is always asking what she can do for the City of Jackson and these funds will help Jackson refurbish an aging pool and foot bridge as well. Thank you again Senator!”
Detert Park serves thousands of residents, families, and visitors each year. This investment will fund park infrastructure repairs and make the park ADA friendly, so families, seniors, and residents with mobility needs can use the city’s main recreational space safely and without barriers.
