Frog-tastic Showdown: Senator Alvarado-Gil Calls Media to Hop into Capitol Tradition

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – It’s time to leap into one of the Capitol’s most cherished spring traditions! Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil (R-Jackson) is inviting members of the media to compete in the 50th Annual Capitol Frog Jump, a lively, family-friendly event where lawmakers, staff, and members of the media battle for frog-jumping glory and the chance to advance to the Grand Finals at the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee.

Inspired by Mark Twain’s legendary short story, “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County,” this annual Capitol tradition celebrates California’s rural culture and literary roots while offering plenty of laughs, friendly competition, and photo-worthy moments. Media are encouraged to attend, participate, and capture the fun! Whether you're in it for the win or just for the story, all are welcome to take part in this unforgettable Capitol event.
